High Altitude Information

In Summit County our elevations range from 9,000 to 12,000 feet above sea level. Many people traveling from a lower elevation to a higher elevation may experience health problems ranging from Altitude Illness, Acute Mountain Sickness, dehydration, sun burn and rare, but potentially fatal cases of HAPE (High Altitude Pulmonary Edema), which affects the heart. Our medical professionals are specially trained to recognize and treat the signs and symptoms of altitude related illnesses.

Whether you are a skier, snowboarder, hiker or biker, we at Centura Health know that you lead an active lifestyle. With a "live life to the fullest" attitude, comes the occasional illness or injury. You can trust us to care for you in a way that we'd want our own families to be treated. So, whether you need emergency care or just a question answered, you can count on the people at Centura Health to give you the best quality care, every time.
